Hopscotch Films by Mark Gowing
Hopscotch Compendium 2003
The first Hopscotch Compendium was created in 2003 with the ambition of exhibiting Hopscotch’s progressive nature and commitment to film, while also cataloguing the Hopscotch releases for the year ahead. 150 copies of the first compendium were hand made. No two copies are alike – each features variations in the content and materials. Each page is taken from a real object – whether it be a piece of existing media, packaging, fabric, plastic, even synthetic grass and real Motown record sleeves. The intent is to use ordinary materials to make a beautiful book and engage the viewer through the use texture and content that relates to each film. hopscotchfilms.com.au (via Mark Gowing Design | Publishing | Hopscotch Compendium 2003)
